A sole proprietorship has consequences a client is entitled to know before signing anything. There is no separate legal person between the practice and its proprietor, so liability is personal and unlimited. Capacity is finite: the register records no employees, and engagements are scheduled rather than staffed. Where a piece of work needs a lawyer, an authorised accountant or an auditor, that specialist is engaged by the client directly, not resold here.
What that buys is the thing most large advisory arrangements struggle to offer — the person in the room at the first meeting is the person who writes the report.
